Gibbs is not his own best critic, which is why he’s so easily overwhelmed at home games. After the game, he’s always exhausted, but can’t say why.
“I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to watch a football game as a fan as well as I do as a player,” Gibbs said.
He’s too sensitive to enjoy many other sports, saying he would have no interest in baseball or basketball. He doesn’t care for golf or tennis.
“Football is the only thing I can talk about for hours and hours,” he said. “I love it. It’s the only thing I really love.”
Gibbs said he’s been asked if he can visualize himself as a coach or general manager. He said he doesn’t envision himself in those roles, but does hope to remain a player.
