They know how to do their jobs well, but they also know what needs to be done to make sure everyone else can do theirs. They're not bad people, either. They're just boring.
I've had friends who are ISTJ, and I know that it's sometimes hard to get them motivated about anything that doesn't have a direct impact on their own careers or their own families. ISTJs are good at what they do, but they're not great at being creative or pushing themselves out of their comfort zones.
