Kaede personality type is ISFP, I am not sure that this personality type is truly rare, but it is certainly not common in Japanese society. It is more common among the artist and musicians, and almost nonexistent among the engineers and IT people.
My father was an engineer, and my mother was a homemaker. I had other relatives also that were extremely adept at loving their children, planning for their future and taking good care of them. They also worked hard to raise their children. I did not have any friends growing up that were "into" the arts. My family was supportive of me doing whatever I wanted to do with my life, but my father and mother did not encourage me towards any specific career path.
I come from an environment where it is very normal to learn a skill or a trade, and then if you are really gifted, you can work your way up to become a master of that craft. This is one reason why I did not choose to become an engineer for my career. My parents and other relatives were very encouraging of my artistic endeavors, but they were not going to pay for me to go to art school.
This is definitely one of the reasons why I have always felt marginalized by society.
