Nelson was raised in the Seattle area and attended Garfield High School in Seattle before graduating from The Bolles School (now Bolles School) in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America. And, like his dad, he played football.
“I started playing football when I was in middle school,” Nelson says. “It was my favorite sport to play. I really loved playing it. I thought it was a lot of fun and a great way for a kid to get a chance to meet new people and make a name for himself.
