Kosuke Iwana personality type is ISTJ, and that made me feel better.
I then went on to take a few Japanese courses and read a lot of Japanese books, and then I got to know a bunch of Japanese people. I would say that's where my Japanese skill really started to develop.
What was the hardest part about learning Japanese?
I think the hardest part is to keep up with the language. I'd like to think that I'm pretty good now, but I still find it hard to keep up with everything. But you can't be afraid to make mistakes because you'll never learn anything if you're afraid of making mistakes.
What are three things you wish you knew before coming to Japan?
I would have liked to know more about the structures of the Japanese government and the different systems of laws, or more about how Japan was before World War II. There are so many things I wish I knew before coming here, but I guess the main three are things that I had no idea of before arriving.
Did you find any surprises about Japan?
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed being in Japan.
