I think the ESTJ is the closest to an ESFJ in terms of leadership style, but I also think that ESFJs deserve to be considered separately from ENTJs and INFJs, and that means that we need to look at the ENTJ and INFJ profiles and see if they fit better than ESFJs in terms of what we're expecting.
My best explanation for why ESTJs tend to be the most dominant of the four types is that they tend to be self-confident and ambitious, and they aren't shy about showing it. Even if they don't like to make a big deal out of it, they tend to be more positive and enthusiastic than the other types, and they tend to get more things done.
ESTJs seem to have a natural gift for leadership and success, and while they might not always intend to be in charge, they do tend to gravitate toward this type of leadership role. They're naturally inclined to be more decisive and leadership-oriented than other types, and they tend to be more confident and aggressive than the other types.
