Triglav I agree with the OP. I was looking for ways to make the game more realistic, and maybe even make it less violent. Unfortunately, that means that the game won't fit into the RPG genre, which is what I would like to do. Which is why I want to make a FPS (First Person Shooter) game (which also includes RPG elements).
I'm thinking of making the game more realistic by making the guns extremely realistic. I'm thinking of using real world ammo, guns, and maps. I'm thinking of using real maps, like from Google Earth. And I'm thinking of making each weapon have a different range and damage.
I'm looking at this thread, and I'm thinking of doing something very similiar. The problem is that if this realism thing goes too far, the game will be too realistic to be a good FPS. Which is why I'm thinking of adding a few unrealistic elements to make it a good FPS.
