What is the personality type of Grendel? Which MBTI personality type best fits? Personality type for Grendel from Beowulf 975 1025 and what is the personality traits.
Grendel personality type is ESTP, and I tend to think that it's actually a good thing. ESTP's are the "loud, flashy, and do it yourself" types. They're risk takers, and they need to know when to back off and when to go all in. The way in which Grendel is written makes me think that this is a good thing in the environment he's in. There's no times when he should be backing down and there's definitely no times when he should be going all in. There's a constant tension in the story between the need for action and the desire to remain hidden. The flipside of this though is that Grendel is unable to express himself to the people he cares about. He doesn't know how to describe what it is that he feels without having it come off as an insult or an insult-lite. This is probably why he keeps his more sensitive feelings to himself or keeps them out of his relationships with others. He doesn't trust himself to talk about his more negative feelings with anyone. He doesn't trust himself to be handled sensitively, so he's trying desperately to avoid doing so at all costs.
The main character of the novel is also the main character of the story.
Grendel - A demon descended from Cain, Grendel preys on Hrothgar’s warriors in the king’s mead-hall, Heorot. Because his ruthless and miserable existence is part of the retribution exacted by God for Cain’s murder of Abel, Grendel fits solidly within the ethos of vengeance that governs the world of the poem.
