    Margaret Tudor was the second child of Henry VII (1457 – 1509) and Elizabeth of York (1466 – 1503). She was born on 28 November 1486 at Richmond Palace, in Surrey. She was named after her paternal grandmother, Margaret Beaufort. Margaret Tudor became queen of England on 25 January 1509, when she married King Louis XII of France.

    The Dowager Queen Margaret, who had no surviving children, died on 13 March 1533 at the age of 54. She is buried in Westminster Abbey next to her husband King Henry VIII.
