Paper personality type is INFP, I don’t believe in typing people. But I think that you should be able to tell a lot about someone from their writing. As an INFP, I feel like I need to say that for me, my introverted and intuitive functions are my inferior function, and I’m not entirely sure why. I don’t like asking for help, but I’m not comfortable with just winging it. I like being more prepared. I’ll clearly explain why my favorite Hemingway quote is “Writing is like dancing, if you don’t have a good partner.”
I feel like I have a good partner, though. I have a good process for writing, which has improved over the past few years. I really like to outline, but I’m not fond of doing so before I write. It doesn’t make sense to me, because I feel like I will lose the spontaneity of the writing process.
As a writer, it’s important to get your ideas down as soon as possible. The longer you let them sit around, the less fresh they are.
