The Keirsey Temperament Sorter [ edit ]
Another popular personality type indicator is the Temperament Sorter, created by the American-based psychiatrist and Jungian psychologist Walter B. Cannon.[10] This system looks at a person's behavior in a variety of situations. This is not a personality test in the normal sense, but a tool for categorizing people into groups based on their behavior in a variety of situations.
Cannon identified six personality types, which he named "temperaments", from the Greek word which means "temperate":
(1) the "Choleric" personality, which includes the "Stoic", "Bold", and "Cynical", which is about being controlled by our emotions and being ruled by our emotions
(2) the "Melancholic" personality, which includes the "Gentile", "Human", and "Loving", which is about being controlled by our emotions and being ruled by our emotions, but having a stronger tendency to be ruled by our emotions than the choleric temperament
