Quill personality type is ISTJ, and I’m ISTP. I’m not sure if this is related to being a programmer, but it turns out that I am a very literal and concrete thinker. Maybe to some degree I’m a bit of a computer engineer. I am very good at finding the exact right button to push in order to get something done.
This doesn’t always work out so well in my personal life, but I’ve found it kind of interesting to see the differences between how I process things and how Quill processes things.
I do have to say, though, that being a programmer is a lot easier than being a writer. There are so many fewer decisions to make. The only decisions that have to be made are the ones that have to be made. If you set up your code properly and make sure it does what you want, you’re good to go. All other decisions are already made for you.
I do like the idea of being able to program things, but I don’t think I would like programming enough to do it for a living.
