My past was somewhat unconventional. When I was young, my dad was a photographer and my mom was a journalist. So I grew up being exposed to the world of media. I had a sister who was two years older than me, so growing up in a family full of people who communicate on the same wavelength, was the best thing that could have happened to me. Having my own opinion on everything, I have always had an independent mind.
I had no choice but to be independent because my parents were divorced when I was just 8 years old. My dad's work had taken him all over the world, so for the first six years of my life, I went with him wherever he was posted. Life was good, I had a loving environment with my mom and sister. But when my dad moved back to Kenya for work, the bad times started.
I grew up in a broken home. My dad was not always there for me or my mom.
