Personality
Ryūya is a very serious, mature and quiet person. He doesn't talk much, he is not very talkative and he usually doesn't show his emotions outwardly. He is very blunt when he talks and when he gets angry, his eyes turn red and he is very violent. He shows these sides of him to nobody, but to his close friends, Yūji Asahina, who he sometimes calls "Ai-chan" (little brother) and Takeru Takaishi, who he sometimes calls "Taka-chan" (little brother) or Ruka Urushibara, the two people he is closest to. He is also very protective of them, especially of Ruka. He has a good sense for music and instruments.
History
Ryūya was born in Hokkaidō, Japan. When he was seven, he lived with his parents and younger brother, Yūji Asahina, in a house in Sapporo. His parents died during an earthquake; after the earthquake, he took care of his brother. Six years later, the family moved to Tokyo's Gotanda district.
