Anne Bonny personality type is ISFP, and she is the daughter of a street performer. There is a clear, clear purpose to her life, and she is driven by it. She loves to dance and sing, and she seems to have a good deal of confidence in herself. She is not sure what the future will hold, but she knows that she has a talent for dancing and performing.
In chapter 2, I talked about the idea that characters are driven by the conflict that is part of their lives. In this chapter, we see that Lula also has a set of personal motivations. She is very driven by the desire to be a famous dancer and to make lots of money. She wants to be famous for her talent rather than her looks, and she wants to make a lot of money because she doesn’t really want to live a pauper’s life. She also wants to enjoy the benefits of fame (wealth, good clothes, love).
Bonny is also driven by her desire for money, but there is a very different kind of tension between her and Lula.
Anne Bonny, sometimes Anne Bonney, was an Irish pirate operating in the Caribbean, and one of a few female pirates in recorded history. Little that is known of her life comes largely from Captain Charles Johnson's A General History of the Pyrates. Bonny was born in Ireland around 1700 and moved to London and then to the Province of Carolina when she was about 10 years old. She then married around 1715 and moved to Nassau in the Bahamas, a sanctuary for pirates. It was there that she met Calico Jack Rackham and became his pirate partner and lover. She was captured alongside Rackham and Mary Read in October 1720. All three were sentenced to death, but Bonny and Read had their executions stayed because both of them were pregnant. Read died of a fever in jail in April 1721, but Bonny's fate is unknown.
