Emília Viotti da Costa (São Paulo, February 28, 1928 - São Paulo, November 2, 2017) was a Brazilian historian and professor. From 1973 she started to work in the United States, where until 1999 she was a professor of Latin American history at Yale University, and, later, she received the title of emeritus professor. She was also a professor at Tulane and Illinois. She received the titles of emeritus professor at the universities of São Paulo (USP) and Yale. She died on November 2, 2017, at the age of 89, of multiple organ bankruptcy, in São Paulo.
