    Ludwig Quidde

    Ludwig Quidde (born 23 March 1858 in Bremen - died 4 March 1941 in Geneva), was a German historian, writer, pacifist and liberal politician under the German Empire and the Weimar Republic. Known for his severe criticism of the German Emperor Wilhelm II, he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1927 jointly with Ferdinand Buisson for his activities in favor of the pacifist movement. As a pacifist, he was active for many years as head of the Deutsche Friedensgesellschaft (DFG) and participated in numerous international peace congresses, for example organizing the 16th World Peace Congress in 1907 in Munich. Ludwig Quidde died in exile in Switzerland in 1941 at the age of 83.
