On 23 March 2020, the Seoul Broadcasting System revealed the personal information of the suspect, Cho, after conducting their own investigation. The next day, police also confirmed his identity. Cho was widely accused for sexual harassment, with some victims reported as minors, including secondary students. It was also reported that he had threatened Sohn Suk-hee, an anchor for JTBC. On 26 November 2020, Cho Ju-bin was found guilty of his crimes and sentenced to a total of 40 years' imprisonment. Cho reportedly said that he wanted to apologise to his victims.
