The MBTI test is not an exact science. Many different factors go into the results of a test. For example, a person can test as an ISFJ and still have a superior IQ and a high degree of creativity. However, it is unlikely that a person with a high IQ and a high degree of creativity would test as a ISFJ.
The MBTI also tries to reflect the predicted behavior of a person based on their personality type. People with the same personality type tend to have the same interests and values. They tend to share many of the same psychological tendencies. In fact, people with similar personalities tend to have more in common with each other than most people do with most other people.
I hope this clears up the confusion some people have with the MBTI test. I have been testing as an ISFJ since I was a teenager. I have noticed many of the traits described above in myself and others I have worked with.
