Bitores Mendez personality type is ISTJ, or Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Judging. In my case, I am an ISTJ. So, as a child, I was very quiet and reserved. I didn't talk much, and if I did it was only to keep up with what the other kids were saying.
I'm not sure why I was so quiet as a kid. One possibility is that I was shy. Another possibility is that I was smart enough to know that it would be better to be quiet than to say something stupid or to get into trouble because of something I said.
My parents noticed that I was quiet and reserved. They worried that I might be introverted and shy, so they tried to involve me in things that would draw me out. They tried to get me involved in music, dancing, art, etc. My father always took me to do yard work with him, but I was always too shy to talk to anyone else there. My mother would take me to the library and she'd make me read books. She would make me go to various social functions with her, but I always got embarrassed and uncomfortable and didn't want to participate in them. I had no sense of who I was as a person.
