I feel like in some ways, I’ve always had the Tengan personality type. I’ve always been competitive and driven to prove myself, even in my youth. That habit of proving myself has only gotten worse as I’ve gotten older. Now that I’m in the real world, I get to prove myself on a daily basis.
I get to prove that I am smarter than most of the people around me, that I am more mature than my peers, that I am more clever than my partners or partners-in-crime, etc. I get to prove my skills on a daily basis by putting them to use in my job.
Yes, this means that I get to use all of the personal qualities that make me me. But it also means that I have to accept that sometimes, my voice will be drowned out by others. Or that I have to listen to other people’s opinions on things more than once before making any decisions. And it means that I have to take criticism more seriously than perhaps some people do.
