Ed Wood personality type is ENFP, a Perceiver, a type that is known for being free-thinking and creative. While I believe that Joss is an INFP, the Perceiver part of his personality type is more obvious, which makes his character more plausible as a child actor as well as a writer.[1]
I find the ENFP to be among my favorite types, as it is one of the rarer ones that is both extroverted and introverted. While extroverted, they seek to give of themselves to the world; introverted, they seek to understand and react on the world. They are generally able to isolate and calculate and process information without becoming overwhelmed, and can concentrate and move on to new ideas and projects with ease. They are generally friendly and open, and love to help others.
Joss Whedon is an ENFP, and he uses his rare combination of extroversion and introversion very well. First of all, he is often seen as a social butterfly, making friends wherever he goes. He seems to thrive on meeting new people and connecting with them.
While he is also known for being extremely enthusiastic about his projects, he does not spend all of his time talking about them.
