Tesla was an inventor of many things, including alternating-current (AC) electricity. As the world’s first electrical power company was being built, he designed an AC dynamo that would help him control the electrical frequencies of the dynamo.

He then created his own electrical company, Tesla Electric Light and Manufacturing Company, which would later become the Tesla Electric Power & Light Co. (1901). It was the first company to use AC power for commercial purposes.

Tesla also invented the Tesla coil, which is used to transmit electrical energy for both industrial and medical purposes.

Tesla’s inventions include the Tesla turbine, the Tesla pile (an early form of earth-boring machines), and the Tesla transformer (a step up in transformer technology).

Tesla also received many patents for his inventions, including Tesla’s turbine, dynamo, and transformer.

Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current electricity supply system. Born and raised in the Austrian Empire, Tesla studied engineering and physics in the 1870s without receiving a degree, gaining practical experience in the early 1880s working in telephony and at Continental Edison in the new electric power industry. In 1884 he emigrated to the United States, where he became a naturalized citizen. He worked for a short time at the Edison Machine Works in New York City before he struck out on his own. With the help of partners to finance and market his ideas, Tesla set up laboratories and companies in New York to develop a range of electrical and mechanical devices.
