Isaac Newton personality type is INTP, as you can see from the way he took the initial letters of his name and rearranged them into a mathematical equation. He also wrote about the three laws of motion and the three universal forces that govern the universe. One of those forces is gravity, and he developed a theory about how it works and the force it exerts on objects (or, as he put it, “inertial force”). Newton also developed a key principle in his law of universal gravitation: objects with mass attract each other, and the strength of that attraction increases as the object gets larger. In other words, bigger objects have a stronger gravitational pull.
Newton’s ideas about gravity were very important during the Scientific Revolution, but they were not widely accepted. For example, Galileo Galilei, an Italian physicist and mathematician, was a champion of the notion that gravity is caused by the weight of matter. His ideas were very different from those of Newton because they emphasized a dynamic, or mechanical, aspect of gravity.
The two men disagreed so strongly on the issue of whether mass attracts mass that Newton refused to publish Galileo’s ideas until after his death.
