Background
Born in the city of Karazahn, Medivh was a member of the Magus clan. He was a powerful sorcerer, and was frequently summoned to the capital city to perform deeds for the ruling human king, Llane Wrynn. However, the young Medivh quickly realized that his power was something that needed to be used for peace and not war. He began to use his magic to great effect in the service of humanity, and soon gained a reputation as a powerful wizard.
However, Medivh soon found that he was not content simply to help humans. One night, he experienced a vision: his power was like a burning torch, and he could see how it could be used for good and evil. The vision showed him the world as it could be; a world where humans and "fiends" (undead) ruled as equals. Medivh could not accept this vision as he felt it was too grim and unnatural, and so he sought to change it. He began to use his power to great effect, and soon found that he had become unbalanced.
