Fenchurch personality type is INFP, so i may be biased. But the first few chapters of the book were a bit slow for me. I'm a little slow to warm up to a new book, so it took me a while to really get into the story. Once I did, though, it kind of flew off the rails and I found myself having to keep going back to check if it had gotten any better.
As for the characters, they were all very different and well-developed. I like that. I like that it didn't feel like they were all carbon copies of each other. Some of the characters were a bit too "in your face" for my tastes, but I think that's for everyone's own personal taste. It's one of those books that you'll either like or you won't.
The plot itself is interesting and fast-paced. The world is large and well-explored; we're given a good look at the class structure and the different regions of the world as well as how the magic system works. It's interesting and has lots of potential for future books.
Overall, I liked this book enough to give it 3 stars out of 5.
