Dirk Gently personality type is ENTP, which means he is a Perceiving type. Perceiving types are often called Sensor types. Sensor types tend to notice and care about the outward appearance of things, which is why the name fits. Sensor types pay attention and notice details and what is around them. They tend to be more in tune with the physical world and the physical world is their main focus in life. Their dominant function is Extraverted Thinking (Te). ENTPs are logical and practical in their decision making. They like to let their brains make up their decisions and analyze things before they make a decision. They like to plan things out very carefully and like to make sure that everything is exactly right, but they don’t always follow through with what they plan out especially if there is a good chance of failure. Because of their logical and practical minds, they tend to be very good at science and math and sometimes even computers and technology.
