The question I’ve been asking myself since learning about Valadares is why so few people know about him. It’s not like he doesn’t have a public presence. He is an established member of the Brazilian government. He is also the youngest minister ever to be appointed by the president.
I’m not sure what to say about that appointment. Maybe it was accidental, but if so, then Valadares is a very fortunate man. Or maybe it was deliberate, but in that case it’s very brave of President Temer to appoint someone so young to such a high position. Or maybe it was deliberate, but in that case it raises the question of why he would take such a risk.
This is all speculation, but I do believe that the appointment says something about Valadares’ personality style.
