His father was an alcoholic and a gambler, who owed a lot of money to loan sharks. If he lost money, his whole family would be in debt. His father would also beat Ceylan's mother. For this reason, Ceylan grew up not trusting others.
Ceylan's mother didn't want him to become a loan shark, but she couldn't stop him. One day, he took her to one of his gambling places and showed her what happened when people who owed him money tried to take their money back from him. Then his mother told him that if the people who owed him money didn't pay him back, she would kill them.
Ceylan decided to quit being a loan shark, but his mother started having debts.
