Maron personality type is ESFP, and that's not just me making that up. I had to look it up, and yes, you can find a ton of info about Maron online. ESFPs are people who are spontaneous and fun, but they're also not afraid to be a goofball. They can get away with being a little weird for a while, but eventually people will start to notice that you're a little off, and then when you're no longer allowed to be weird, you'll just be a dull dork.
I see this in Maron all the time. When we started making it into a podcast, he was allowed to be a little off-kilter, and people loved it. But as soon as he became officially a full-time comedian, he started being less and less weird and more and more boring. He got to the point where he had no personality, where people didn't know what to expect from him. He was just this guy who was doing stand-up comedy in New York City, which is exactly what T.J Miller did before he went to Silicon Valley.
The thing that I don't get is why people keep telling him to stop being boring.
