Rocco personality type is ISTP, which was described by Jung as “The Explorer,” and is characterized by being meticulous, curious, detached, and practical. As Jung pointed out, ISTPs have a strong interest in the physical world, which leads them to be in tune with it.
In order to get a better grasp of what this entails, I had to look at a few examples of ISTPs in action.
A couple of years ago, my girlfriend’s brother was trying to sell his motorcycle to pay off some debt. He put up an ad on Craigslist, complete with a picture of the bike, in the hopes that someone would come and make a purchase.
One guy came to look at the bike and immediately asked to speak with my girlfriend’s brother. The reason? He wanted to know if the bike’s engine was running.
He needed to know that not only did the bike work, but that he could trust that it would work on any given day.
To him, the engine was everything.
After the repair shop gave him the go-ahead and he bought the bike, he showed up the next day for a ride. The engine was fine.
