Georges Marchais personality type is ESTP, which is the personality type of entrepreneurs and innovators. He has been described as a master at propaganda and political agitation, under his leadership, the French Communist Party increased its share of the vote from 6. 5% in the 1945 elections to 34% in the 1957 elections. Marchais was a member of the French Communist Party for his entire life, Marchais was born in Mâcon, Côte-dOr. His father was a miner and his mother was the daughter of a blacksmith from Lorraine who had immigrated during the First World War. He was the second of his name, his father having died before he was born. In 1936, after earning one of his baccals at the University of Lyon, he joined the Communist Youth, in 1940, he married fellow party member Yvonne Gross, with whom he had two daughters. He served in the French Army during World War II as a member of the FTP-MOI, after the war he became a trade unionist and was elected General Secretary of the Confédération générale du travail in 1947. In this capacity he negotiated several important agreements between the CGT and employers, including one that recognized the right to strike.
Georges René Louis Marchais (7 June 1920 – 16 November 1997) was the head of the French Communist Party (PCF) from 1972 to 1994, and a candidate in the French presidential elections of 1981.
