In the end, Sirius was just a poor boy with a lot of anger issues. He was also a bit of a bully. There were many people who were hurt by him and his behavior, but I think he had a lot of good points as well. He was a great friend to Harry Potter, but then again, Harry was the only one who would tolerate him.
