Human disguise personality type is ENTP, I believe. It's possible that these are some of the same individuals you're referring to, but I wouldn't put them into the same category. Sometimes, this is just a matter of how the individual presents themselves to others.
That said, I've seen ENTPs who are too cool for school, and it's not always a good thing. For example, I know of an ENTP who's clearly interested in me, but he won't make a move. He's a good guy, but he seems afraid to get close to anyone. He's super smart and he's very knowledgeable, but (I suspect) he's afraid to open up because it'll be hard for him to keep up with the conversation and he'll be left out.
If he's really interested in me, though, I think he's waiting for me to make the first move.
I think the ENTP is known for being the least self-assured of all the types. The NT types are typically more confident than the other two in their views and are more likely to express their viewpoints easily, but that's not always the case.
