The other day my aunt asked me if I had read a book lately. I looked at her with a puzzled look and said, “I don’t know… I read a lot.”
Aunt Bridget: “I’m glad you do, but you’re not reading enough. You need to spend more time reading. You need to spend more time on the internet. And you need to spend more time reading books.”
Me: “Yes, Aunt Bridget, but I don’t have time to read. I have schoolwork and homework and a job and errands and things I have to do.”
Aunt Bridget: “You do NOT have enough time to do all of that, so you need to read a little bit more.”
I rolled my eyes and laughed about this for like a whole minute, because I know it’s not wrong for her to say, but it’s also not wrong for me to say!
