Markowitz helped distribute food and water to the people who were trapped in the hotel.
"We were able to get up there and help out. There's a lot of people that have been stuck in the hotel," she said. "We had to call for the rescue workers and make sure that everyone was accounted for."
Markowitz says the Red Cross is a team effort and if one person is not able to do their job, it all comes undone.
