Link personality type is ENFP, ENFP, ENFP, ENFP. This is the most common type for counselors, which is why we have so many ENFPs in the counseling field. (What about other types? They’re fine, too. A lot of people with the ENFP personality type are actually not counselors, but rather “other service providers,” such as teachers, doctors, or social workers.) The ENFP will usually have some kind of counseling experience, or have recently ended a counseling relationship that was unsatisfying and is trying to find a better fit.
The type of counseling they’re looking for is usually something that involves working with someone with a common problem, such as depression, anxiety, or relationship issues. They enjoy helping people with these types of problems and would love to do so again. (This is somewhat common for ENFPs.) They’re also likely to have done some kind of counseling before – perhaps in high school or college – and may have a counselor friend in mind who’s had a similar experience or is looking for someone who will be similar to them.
