Here is my ruminations on the subject. And I'm NOT a "fans". I have not read "Dune" nor have I watched the movies. But I have read the book several times. I have not read the "Dune" books, because the only one I've read was "Children of Dune", and I just did not like it. So I decided to read "Dune Messiah" & "God Emperor of Dune". Now, I am finished, and I must say that I am a little disappointed, as I was expecting more from some of the characters. The reader who I think is best in the series is Chani. Ian Mevissen is good, but not as good as Chani. I would like to see more of Chani in future books. After reading all 3 books, I am still having a hard time understanding certain parts and how certain characters grow and change. By the way, I am an INTJ and a fan of "Star Wars" (though I have never read or watched the "Star Wars" books or movies)..
