When ISTPs become project managers, they tend to take their responsibilities very seriously. They will take a “hands on” approach to managing the team and will often want to be seen as a “manager”. Whether they are good or bad at their role depends on the quality of their leadership skills and how much support they get from those around them.
This can make for some interesting dynamics in the team and if the ISTP project manager is not careful, they can end up being a micromanager or worse, an autocratic leader who is not very effective in getting things done.
