“I’ve always been kind of a people person. I’m not a great student, but I have a lot of confidence in my ability to be able to go in there and talk to the people and figure it out,” Wolters said. “You know, I go in and I listen to the people.”
Wolters said he’s been in a lot of different positions.
“I’ve been a baker, I worked for a company called Pace Foods for about eight years, as well as a spokesperson for the group called Campus Dental,” he said. “I also was in a position where I was a program director at the University of Iowa Department of Athletics.”
Wolters didn't grow up in Des Moines, but he did grow up in Kansas City, Missouri, where he still lives today. He studied at the University of Iowa and graduated with a bachelor's degree in English and English literature in 1999.
