The only real difference that I can see between this and RWBY is that instead of having a set of characters with different powers, each character is an individual with their own inner logic and motivations. Sure, there's canon and continuity between the show and the comic, and some things will be changed and adapted for the TV show, but on first glance, the RWBY comic seems to be a show about a group of characters who are on a journey of discovery and growth, rather than a story about how they're supposed to relate to each other as viewers.
