David Finlay Jr. (born 31 January 1958) is a Northern Irish professional wrestling trainer, producer, and retired professional wrestler.
He made his World Championship Wrestling debut in 1996, as "The Belfast Bruiser", and he entered a feud with Lord Steven Regal when he attacked him, then cut a promo in which he declared that Regal was an "English pig" who was "paying for 400 years" of English-Irish conflict. After years and numerous title wins, Finlay stopped wrestling in late 2000, and WCW got bought out by WWF, where he became a trainer.
He began working on a comeback, and promos began airing for his impending return in 2005. His gimmick was that of a proud Irishman who loved to fight. With his trusty shillelagh within reach, and his (later revealed to be his storyline) son Hornswoggle hiding under the ring ready to scurry in and distract his opposition, Finlay had the luck of the Irish on his side.
