The manga artist Sachio Hashimoto began his career as an assistant on Gunbuster. Later, he worked on several other anime series, including the sci-fi trilogy Patlabor, the anime series Hi-Evolution, and the anime series Tekkaman Blade.
In Karl Hora’s book LOST RYUJIN, the author mentions that Hashimoto has portrayed characters in many different roles, including landing craft pilot Ryuji Minagawa in Patlabor, the director of the mobile fortification unit of the army base of Hi-Evolution, and the commander of the Tekkaman Blade remnants in the non-fiction film Tekkaman Blade: The Movie.
