The problem is that INTP in the standard sense is not present in any type in actuality (Wikipedia has a nice description of INTP in the standard sense). It's a made up label, and as such has no value to it.
I agree with your first point, I think that's only an issue if one has been told he or she is an INTP, but the label has no real power over the person.
