History
Parker was born to Commander Mike Shaw and a woman he referred to as his "wife". He lived with his mother and father, who were both high-ranking members of the Earth Alliance. At some point in his childhood, his parents were killed in an Alliance terrorist attack that also took the lives of other high-ranking Alliance officials, such as "First Minister" Lemuel Hawkins, and the First Lady.
Parker was raised by Dr. Helen Granger, who was the same physician that delivered him. He was taken in by the elderly woman when his father and mother died in the attack.
Parker was raised with a deep respect for his parents and the Alliance, which prompted Parker to follow in their footsteps as a military officer: he became an astronaut working for the Earth Alliance's Department of National Security. He was assigned to the space station UNSC Infinity in 2553, where he worked as Chief Astronaut.[1]
