My father came to the US in 1996. My parents got married on the day they met, and my father was a pastor of a church in the Philippines. He was very active in his church and did a lot of things for the people there. He took care of the church and the people, and then he came to the US and began working for a large company, but also took time to attend to his Filipino community, helping many people. He would always give away money to the needy, and he prayed for everyone, especially for his family, his church, and my mother. My father always believed that he was on a mission from God, and he was always praying for me and my brother. He was my hero. He had one goal: to look after my brother and me.
