Simon the Devious personality type is ENTP, an extrovert intuitionist, a type that is not only interested in the future (introverted thinking) but is also very interested in the past (extraverted intuition). It is not surprising that he is a very good historian, which is where I got the idea for the name of this blog.
I can't write about history without recommending the book The Man Who Invented History by Ron Rosenbaum. Ron is a great writer and his writing is always worth reading.
In my recent blog post about the origins of the world's religions I quoted from a book called The Lost Beliefs of Ancient Egypt by Jeremy A. Sabloff, which I highly recommend as a source for anyone interested in Egyptian history.
I also recently read The Death of Adam by Ian Mortimer, which is about the murder of a prominent member of the British aristocracy in the 1920s who was accused of murdering his wife and children but was never convicted. A great read and highly recommended.
Next, I will be reviewing a book I have been wanting to read for a long time, The Trial of Socrates.
