John Mew (born 1928) is a British orthodontist and the creator of "orthotropics", a method that claims to guide facial growth. The practice of "mewing", a form of do-it-yourself oral posture training, is named after him. Mew practised dentistry for 40 years in Surrey and Kent until the General Dental Council revoked his license in 2017 for failing to protect patient data and for practicing on a patient without consent. In 2013, Mew received an award at the American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry.
