Be careful not to get upset when people make these assumptions about you. They are probably not trying to be mean or make you feel bad. It is just a case of them not knowing you very well and having no idea what their words might mean to you.
I find that by using this link between people's perception of me and my actual personality, it actually helps me understand what people are saying when they say things to me that I would otherwise find hurtful. (And it helps me understand when people are being mean.
