The Blyndeffs are not the richest family in town, but they are certainly the first family to come to mind when you think of the “good guys”. The Blyndeffs are very kind, selfless people. Lorelai, for all her smarts, is pretty much a giant doormat.
Lorelai isn’t sure how to tell her parents she’s pregnant. She and Luke were married like two months ago and she’s been keeping it from her folks for months now, because she doesn’t want them to know and she doesn’t want them to stop supporting her. So when she tells them she’s pregnant, it comes out as this big massive “WHAT?!”
It’s sucky and it would be even suckier if they had some kind of clue that Luke was the father, but Luke is just as clueless as Lorelai.
